Our Local Security Promise
LockVault is designed to be a fully sandboxed, local-only offline password organizer and secure vault app. Your security is our highest priority, which is why your sensitive data never leaves your physical device. We maintain zero servers, zero analytics trackers, and zero cloud backups.
No Remote Storage
No passwords or encryption keys are ever transmitted over the network or stored in the cloud.
Local Encryption
All vault contents are protected locally in a private database on your device using robust Android encryption APIs.
Zero Tracker Tracking
We collect absolutely no telemetry, usage statistics, log files, or diagnostic reporting.
1. Information Collection and Storage
When using LockVault, all your passwords, usernames, URLs, categories, notes, and Master Keys are entered directly by you and saved exclusively in the application's local SQLite database (powered by Room DB).
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, sign up, or create an online profile to use LockVault.
- Zero Remote Transmission: LockVault has no backend APIs or remote servers. Your entered entries stay confined entirely to the application's private system storage on your phone.
2. Encryption and Device Security
Data inside your database is safeguarded locally against physical extraction. Your Master Password/Key is processed directly in memory when generating or decrypting items, and is not cached insecurely. Because you hold the only key, we cannot recover or reset your Master Password for you if it is forgotten. We encourage you to store a physical backup in a safe offline location.
3. Android System Permissions
To guarantee absolute privacy and security, LockVault operates with the strict principle of minimal privilege. The application requests **no system permissions** from your Android device:
- No Network Access: The app does not request the
INTERNETpermission in the manifest, completely preventing remote connection. - No Storage Permissions: The app stores database files in private internal sandboxed directory space which does not require external memory read/write permissions.
4. Children’s Privacy & COPPA Compliance
Because LockVault operates locally and does not collect, capture, or transmit any data, we do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 (or indeed anyone). We are fully COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) compliant.
5. Third-Party Libraries & Software Updates
We use only the standard Android Jetpack, Room, Kotlin, and Material Design libraries provided officially by Google. No tracking APIs, advertising systems, or analytical SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or third-party ads) are integrated into LockVault.
6. Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Since the application cannot connect to the internet to push policy updates, any modifications to this policy will be bundled directly with future app release packages and updated transparently on this website.
